I don't know what this flower is. I bought it before it flowered and had a very pleasant surprise when I saw this first flower open. Have just gone to have a look at it and notice that the petals are all facing downwards now. Does that help with the identification?
Puzzle over thanks to all of you. I now remember it was Echinacea that I bought.
Looks like something in the 'cone flower' family...but of course ... I'm totally guessing ;) AMAZING IMAGE!! This kind of stuff truly makes my heart sing and glad I choose to try to learn how to make photographs!!
So beautiful Chantal, I love the comp and close crop and the colours are really lovely. I would say cone flower of some sort too, maybe Echinacea purpurea?
Lovely shot. I'd guess something like echinacea too especially given the down petals you mention but a more complete shot would help. This one, while artistically pleasing, is not maybe the best for ID purposes. But then the mysterious quality of the shot is part of its charm.
I agree with the coneflower thought - their centers look like this - or would if I could shoot them anywhere as nice as you have. Love your pov. That focus plus that color is just exceptional.
so gorgeously pretty! I'm growing Enchinea's in my garden for the first time this year, so excited for when they flower! Apparently they are very good for attracting bugs, butterflies, and small birds into the garden :)
All over my front yard garden patch - a great flower because it blooms forever for a perennial, is drought tolerant, and attracts all kinds of bees and butterflies. You have a cultivar with the peachy/yellowy/orangy tones. gorgeous shot!
