Feeling a bit sad to think that this time tomorrow I will have left my living scarf, Inca, my 9 year old Somali cat home alone with Tabby my Devon Rex and Muffin my Ragdoll. Of course, they won't be all alone as my friend will be coming daily to sort cat litters, feed them and give them lots of cuddles while we are in Canada, but it's not the same. My friend tells me that Inca leaps onto her shoulder when she comes over to look after them, which can be quite a shock when you're not expecting it. She loves travelling around on your shoulder. I do think Inca looks sad in this photo, it's as if she knows. I am sure she would prefer this than being put in a cattery though.
I dread leaving my cats. I boarded them last visit, and they were both so mad they ignored me for several days after getting home. Let them stay home and my son checked on them this last time away, and they were full of welcome homes when I got back. Wonderful light in this. She does look wistful.
It is rather a sad face. However sounds as though she will be loved and cared for in your absence. Have a great holiday. I love Canada and the idea of Vancouver and the Rockies makes me green with envy!
A friend of mine had a business house sitting friendlies as she called them. She went on vacation for a weekend and I had the pleasure to watch in on a home with 2 dogs and 2 cats for 3 days and give them fresh treats. The friendlies waited for me at the door everyday to show their appreciation for my visit. Go away and enjoy your vacation and know absence makes the heart grow fonder.
Yes she looks a bit sad, but indeed would prefer this arragements I´m sure. What unusual habbit, never heard a cat to do that! My cat loves being on shoulder why I walk but he never sleeps there
Adorable shot! How nice to have Inca traveling on your shoulder........creative shot!
Have a great trip to Canada........where in Canada are you visiting?
Absolutely adorable capture -- it does pull at the heart strings doesn't it when we leave the pets behind -- but I am sure they will be happier at home with your friend tending and making a fuss of them rather than in a cattery . My friend and neighbour always looked after my old cat when we went away -- I think he would be heartbroken if he had to go to a cattery !
Aw, she does look sad and I'm sure she knows. Cats have a sixth sense about these things. For that reason, I never bring out the suitcases until the last minute! Have a great trip and don't worry about your cats - they're happier at home and your friend will love them as if they were her own.
Lovely capture and cats have so much character, FAV from me. Have a great time, Canada was my all time favourite place I visited. Worked 4 days in Calgary and then spent a few days holiday up in the Rockies near Banff.
Great shot!! FAV!! They always know when we are getting ready to leave them! They definitely sense the change that is about to come from all that unusual activity that takes place.....great selfie of you and your Inca!
Beautiful capture Chantal, she looks a little sad, but they do prefer to stay in their own surroundings with someone to give them loving care while you're away. I'd like to say"Welcome to Canada" even though I gather you won't be in my part of it!
Lovely shot
