Primrose or Primula? by shepherdmanswife

Primrose or Primula?

I was walking the dogs on the fields at the back of our house yesterday when I came across just one small primrose or Primula plant. No idea how it got there.
Suggestive of wild primroses. From my extremely limited knowledge I think the wild version are much smaller than the less wild version but I'm sure someone in the know will fill us in and correct me on this!

So beautiful. I have not seen that flower before.

A primrose is a primula. Primula Vulgaris. So this is definitely a primula but not sure if it's the common primrose. I do know it's a beautiful shot!

I know that flower and shot are gorgeous. It's still just heavy white snow here in New England, south of Boston. A sight like this would be so wonderful.
