This pair of swans have come back to Rother Valley Countryside Park and nested next to a tree in the middle of a seating area where 100's of people pass to buy their food from the clear gazebo tent (seen behind the nesting female). This is a water skiing centre, and today there was a championship competition going on. It doesn't bother the swans who are back here to nest for the 4th year. They must think its a good spot. They are pretty tame. I got to within 3 feet of them. The male only got upset when a dog got too close or the ducks tried to go near his nesting partner. If you look closely you will see she has 6 eggs under her.
We stopped at this park yesterday in Rotherham on our way up to Northumberland. I am hoping that the eggs have hatched next week when we pass by again.
