A Blustery Day in Whitby

I went to Whitby today to photograph participants of the SteamPunk weekend. Saw some fascinating outfits and the steampunkers were all so friendly and willing to have their photos taken. Unfortunately the weather was not kind to us as it was freezing cold, raining and very windy. Still had a great day out though, despite the weather and the 6 hours travelling!
Super shot...great sense of scale, neat tones

Saw the SteamPunk event advertised when we were there 2 weeks ago - I hope you got some great street photos. This view works well with the wide-angle lens. And if it's any consolation... we had rain t00!

How great to take this expansive shot from the top of the lighthouse! So moody and atmospheric. I can feel the cold and the wind.

I spent one of the most memorable days of my life in Whitby, mostly up at the abbey, on my 2006 trip to northern England. I loved Whitby and want to go back, so I'm very interested in seeing your view of Whitby.

Ahh! Childhood memories. We used to go there sometimes on a Saturday afternoon from our home in Scarborough. This is a wonderful shot of Whitby.

I definitely like this framing more than the black and white. Here the bridge leads me into the background, but on the other it just kinds of leads me away to the left. Here though, great leading lines bring me straight into the city and make me admire the color of it. This is a great shot. I also like the contrast here. And the light makes this very dynamic. Amazing what a spot of sun can do for the overall image. I fav it.
