Rummaging below the Feeders

This is an easier way for this Robin to get his food as they are not very dexterous when it comes to hanging feeders. They just can't grab the wires like the Tits do. I have feeders in our trees on the front garden so use my car as a bird hide. They really don't see me and they are used to seeing my car there on the drive.

Thank you for all your visits and comments and faves. I do appreciate it. I am now in week 6 of being ill with this cough, sore throat, headaches and most of all, lack of energy. I have had 2 lots of antibiotics as I had a chest infection followed by pleurisy, so it must be a virus. I am still having to go to work as we can only have 10 days or 3 instances in a rolling 12 months off sick before getting a formal written warning, which stays with you for 12 months in which you cannot have any time off at all or you get a second formal warning. Then, 1 more time off sick, you get sacked as deemed unfit for work. I got a warning 2 years ago when I spent a week in hospital with double pneumonia and pleurisy plus 3 more weeks recovering. I managed to work through every chest infection that I caught that year to get rid of the warning. How stressful was that?
So now, I collapse when I get home from work, I cough myself awake through the night, but I still go to work. It is so unfair, especially as they know I have a damaged lung and am prone to chest infections. I've been there since 1989. That's local government for you. They have to make horrendous cuts in their budgets and they are getting rid of people any way they can. They don't care who goes, which of course means those like me with years of experience are lost and not replaced. What is it all coming to?
Well, if you've read this far you deserve a big star. I've finished my rant for now.
Sorry for not commenting so much these days. Will catch up when I feel better.
Thats all really rubbish!! Must be a nasty virus round our part of the world. Nearly 2 weeks into a sore throat/cough/sinus infection. As are the kids and most of kids school. Hope you get well really soon. Take care if yourself. There is only one you. Im missing my birds. Had to temporarily stop feeding whilst trying to stop rats on patio nesting. Think nearly caught them!! All the best.

I just read the rest of your post. How awful for you. I hope you get better soon. The way your work does things is positively Neanderthal!

Chantal, that is the most barbaric policy I've ever heard in my life on so many levels. Money over people! It sounds completely Dickensian. And way to spread disease, as well! I am outraged on your behalf :(.

This is a delightful, very colorful bird. Love your shot. And bah humbug to those in charge for not looking at illness on a case by case basis. I'm so sorry you feel so ill.

Chantal, sorry to here you are so poorly 🙁 . The same sickness rules apply in the bank I work for! I am, thankfully, retiring this year as I've had enough of all the corporate craziness. As you say, no respect for the knowledge we have! Total empathy with your rant!
