at first we thought it was a killer whale but on closer inspection with the aid Mr Google we discovered it to be a Hector Dolphin. He was playing in the waves as they crashed to the beach. Were were 2 other ordinary type dolphins playing with him. It was wonderful to watch them and listen to them communicating with each other. These were taken at Curio Bay, South Island, New Zealand. Sadly, we only have one more week here in this lovely country.
OMG I thought it was an Orka! Wow how wonderful to see the gorgeous dolphins! Wish I was there with you! I really would love to return to NZ as it was the holiday of a lifetime! Huge fav!
That experience would have been worth the whole trip to me. What a great shot - the timing was perfect. Colors of both the dolphin and water are wonderful.
