I got to spend this amazingly warm afternoon in solitude, just me and my camera and God's creatures. There were a hundred other things I coulda, shoulda, woulda been doing. Instead, I drove to Blackwater. Soul time. Did me good.
gorgeous! How come everyone is getting orange but me. Oh wait, I am getting orange sunsets when I look at all the beautiful pictures... what is blackwater?
@francoise A National Wildlife Refuge in Cambridge, MD. The total area is huge, not sure how many square miles, with a 3 or 4 mile drive right thru one of the marsh areas. At any given time, you can drive thru (or walk or jog or cycle) and see a hundred different waterfowl. The sunsets are fabulous. Probably sunrises, too, but I'm rarely up in time to drive the 45 minutes to witness those from that vantage point!
@shesnapped I've been there! On the way to Chincoteague one time. It was beautiful, though all I really remember is the heron with the frog half-way down his gullet.
A beautiful scene like this would definitely be good for the soul. And the camera's view finder. Having the birds flying through was the perfect touch. Fav'd!
