Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus by shesnapped

Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus

"First Love" by Avalon
I used to be the one who would long to hear Your voice
A child who sought to win his Father's heart
But as I carried on, life got a hold on me
Now here I am a son so far from home

Tell me when did I lose my first love?
Where did the fire and passion go?
Burn in me Your holy fire
Give me back my lost desire
And restore in me the love I felt for You

Can I remember how it felt?
When they looked into my face
And they saw the love of Jesus in my eyes
When I look back on my life
And question where I've been
Can I really say I've done my best for you?

Oh where did I go (I've lost my way)
Oh I'm lost and I'm alone
Oh help me please
Lord lead me home

Father take me back
Let me start again
Lord I've failed and fallen in my pride
Lead me back to you
Where my life began
Revive in me the yearning that has died

Tell me when did I lose my first love?
Where did the fire and passion go?
Burn in me Your holy fire
Give me back my lost desire
And restore in me the love I felt for You

Psalm 30
I will extol thee, O Lord; for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me.
O Lord my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.
O Lord, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.
Sing unto the Lord, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.
For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
And in my prosperity I said, I shall never be moved.
Lord, by thy favour thou hast made my mountain to stand strong: thou didst hide thy face, and I was troubled.
I cried to thee, O Lord; and unto the Lord I made supplication.
What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit? Shall the dust praise thee? shall it declare thy truth?
Hear, O Lord, and have mercy upon me: Lord, be thou my helper.
Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness;
To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent.
O Lord my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.

My get pushed partner, Amy-Lee Winfield, challenged me to "create a triptych of images taken in different light that tells a story". As soon as I saw her challenge, I knew what the story would be about. I just didn't have the first clue how I would go about telling it. This is not at all how I initially envisioned it, and I'm sure Amy-Lee had no idea of the journey she would set me on. But this is a true story, the story of the past week and a half. Definitely not a story I want to relive, nor one that I'm proud of, but here it is. Amy, thank you for your challenge. There has been healing in it.

Hi Ashley, what amazing landscape and animal pictures - and what adorable grandchildren! I am your get pushed partner for this week. As I browsed through your pictures I realised you haven't posted any architectural shots. Would you like to give it a go this week?
