Successful launch today! And several great shots! Have to shoot in jpeg when doing these. The actual time from the release of the vessel until she bobs back up is maybe 10 seconds. You should be completely set up and ready to go before they begin cutting the beams. Once the final beam is cut, hold down the shutter button (or remote) and don't let go until she's in and floating. (Did I mention the tripod requirement?) If you shoot raw, your memory card won't be able to keep up and you'll miss the best shots. (Ask me how I know that!!!!) So jpeg it is. We had a beautiful, clear day today with a gorgeous blue sky. Made for some terrific shots!
And yes, attendance at these launches requires donning a hardhat. I have a nice, pretty lavender one. I also have hardhat hair now. :-)
