Spent the last two weeks spring cleaning the house and the yard. The teenager graduates from high school tomorrow night! Yay! Exciting times! So my older son, daughter-in-law, and the precious grandbabies drove the 8 hours today to get here ... and guess what they forgot to pack!!! I've got porta-cribs lined up to borrow but can't pick them up until tomorrow. The Skye Angel, being the smaller of the two, drew the wild card for the laundry basket! That's one for the books!!!!
Oh gosh I am really getting senile. I went to the wrong person fist. I am your get pushed partner. The person I went to I am always getting mixed up in my little pea brain with you because your pictures often remind me of hers and vice versa. Her name is @hilarymeme and look at her pictures I think you will see the similarity. Please forgive me my goof. This is the challenge - I have followed you for a while so I know what you have done. You have a love of the beautiful. You photograph birds, cats, etc. So my challenge is to photograph the ugly. Your definition. She says she may try it anyway so I may get a twofer. I enjoy both of your photos and hope you follow each other.
@joansmor What an interesting challenge! Hard to imagine, on a beautiful glorious morning like this one, that there could possibly BE anything ugly!
The teenager graduated from high school Friday night, so we've had a wonderful houseful this weekend, and therefore just a bit behind. But I will issue your challenge a bit later.
@joansmor Coincidentally, a couple hours ago we were leaving a shopping center, and there was an older woman with a heavily lined face standing a bit stooped in the median, holding her sign, asking for money, with a small bronze-looking cross dangling from a chain in her hand. As we passed by her, I thought 'That's the photo', and just as quickly knew that I could never exploit her that way. Not that she was ugly, not at all, but that her circumstances were ugly. It was the kind of photo that an experienced photographer would win awards with. But I can't do that. I can't photograph someone's pain .... And yet, I know that if I took that shot, her beauty would actually be what would show thru if I could capture it the way I see it in my mind's eye ....
Ah. Just rambling. Very sentimental weekend for me...
@shesnapped Me too my husband died four years ago on this past Saturday and his birthday would have been next Friday. So I get that it is a sentimental weekend. I also get what you mean by the ugly in that picture and not wanting to exploit. I took pictures at the cemeteries but no people.
