Three and a half years ago, dh and I escaped for a weekend to a little inn a couple hours away and slept on a bed that was like sleeping on a cloud. The sad thing is, we had just bought a brand new mattress that felt good at the store, but was not the least bit comfy once we got it home. And of course, we were stuck with it. But OH how we loved that mattress at that inn! I never forgot about that mattress! I still lay in bed at night sometimes and think about that mattress!
Sometime later, many months I'm guessing, I said something to dh about that mattress, and he told me he had done some research and knew exactly which mattress it was and we could actually buy one for ourselves ... Whaaattttt???? We could even get a $150 discount if we bought it within a year of sleeping on it at a hotel. Oh well. Didn't matter. The price tag on that mattress was way out of our price range, even with a discount. But over the past few years, we've revisited the idea several times. Many times.
Fast forward to today, Nana and Gradda are pooped, POOPED I tell you, and we're tossing and turning and our hips are hurting, and we're spending the day working and chasing two toddlers and not getting enough rest ... and this morning Gradda said "Let's get the mattress" and Nana said "Yes!!!" So we loaded the two toddlers and off we went down the road about 2 1/2 hours to the factory with the beautiful, industrial-style showroom and all the calm colors and lighting and textures, and we ordered the mattress of our dreams!!! And the sweet lady in the front office caught me with the babies in the window, looking down on the cars and birds and pallet trucks and talking about heads and shoulders and knees and toes while waiting for Gradda to take care of all the sale paperwork, and she took this shot with her phone and texted it to me, and I cropped and processed it on my phone. And now I can't wait for 3 weeks to get here so I can sleep on our dream mattress again!!!
I know that feeling of sleeping on a cloud and have been after one for years - but our bed is 6 inches longer than the usual so i had to be happy with one manufacturer who would make one for me. Its good but not as good as the 'cloud'!
