Went to Chincoteague this afternoon. Took the kids' bike trailer and hooked it up to Gradda's bike. They LOVED it!!! Chattered the whole time! All of a sudden, we heard this loud POP!!! Scared the mess out of me! It almost sounded like someone had shot some kind of gun. But we knew that couldn't be. Dh looked behind him, and sure enough, the trailer had a flat tire. DARN!!! It was SUCH a beautiful day with perfect weather, and happy little people! Just hated to have to end it so abruptly!
We did make it to our favorite eatery, tho, for the first time this season. We knew that today would be their last day open for the season, and we really didn't want to miss out this year. Good thing we made it, because they're closing down for good. The owner is ready to retire and enjoy her grandchildren. The nice thing is, she told us how she makes her shrimp. YAY!!!! Dh can cook anything, and he cooks it well. So there's shrimp on our menu in the very near future!
And then this heron was kind enough to give me a photo op. All in all, it was a good day, even if it was cut a little short.
