We went for a Sunday drive out and came across these lovely old hooped caravans making their way towards Appleby for the Annual Horse fair. Top left were parked up on the village green in a small village. Top right were traveling through the main street of Kirkby Stephen. The others were just out on the open road. We also passed many more horse drawn and ordinary caravans parked where they could on the roadsides. Best viewed on black.
@flowerfairyann@snowy@stiggle@gijsje@365projectorgchristinewebb@hermann@bruni Thank you all for taking time to comment on my photos. Once more you have put me on the PP and TP which is amazing. @dizzyd Yes they did know I was taking the pictures. One of the vans we saw on the open road and I took a picture which wasn't very good. We then went into the town of Kirkby Stephen and the same van came through so I took another picture, as they went past one of the guys shouted to me that he would buy one of the picture off me :) so he must have recognized me. My thought was 'you'll have to find me first -ha ha. @terryliv I think a lot of the people who 'Travel' in the hooped vans now will only be traveling to the fair. There will be the odd true traveler who travel this way but I think they will be few and far between.
@onewing@777margo@bkbinthecity@steeler Thank you for your kind comments I do always appreciate the time people give to do this. @ericdibosco I couldn't decide which picture I liked best that is why it ended up as a collage. :)
