Emergency birth. by shirleybankfarm

Emergency birth.

Not for the squeamish I'm afraid. It was all systems go this evening when we had to call the vet for an emergency cesarean on one of our cows. Happily a large female calf was born and mother and baby are both doing well. Picture of Mam and baby two days later here. http://365project.org/shirleybankfarm/365/2015-07-20
Gosh..hope we see more of the cow & calf in the coming weeks.

Its a huge thing - a caesarian on a cow - have to string it up etc. However it must have been necessary!
