Babs, Terry and Debbie they are quite small nowhere near the size of a normal apple and very, very sour little things. They could be used as a normal cooking apple but would take a lot of peeling and coring because of the size. That is why the are best used to make jelly where you just chop then and stew them down - peel, core and all. The jelly is lovely with roast pork or chicken as an alternative to apple sauce.
