Sneaky shot at the theatre

Went to The Theatre by the Lake at Keswick to see Snow Queen. It is only a small theatre but they put on some very good shows. There were only 8 actors in this production, each taking on more than one role. You aren't meant to take photographs throughout the show but I did manage to sneak a couple with out my flash on. This was the best that came out.
This was taken with my old small compact camera.

Naughty girl! We go there every year to see the Christmas show. I thought this was very good though not as dynamic as some. My son did not enjoy it as much as there was too much 'using your imagination' which was hard for him and his learning disability. He loved the Railway children a few years ago. Super picture by the way.

@gijsje @callymazoo thank you ladies, Cally we also try to go to see the Christmas show each year. I did not know the story of the Snow Queen and it took me until the Autumn scene to work out what it was all about!!!! I was also at the Railway Children show which I thought very good. I also liked the Borrowers and Peter Pan.

@shirleybankfarm I didn't see the Borrowers but Peter Pan was good and I loved 'Tom's Midnight garden' as I loved the book as a child. They are always so clever with the circular stages, also used in swallows and Amazons. Our local amateur dramatics lets the amateur photographers come on a practice night to take photos; the first time it just said we could go and so I thought it was a perk and didn't take my camera; a bit embarrassing as Hubby and I had a night out. We slipped away at half time, had a drink and returned to the childminder! I am not good at indoor photography.

@callymazoo I have a lot to learn about indoor photography, mostly I set my camera to a pre set position, in this case one called 'use available light' and hope for the best :)

Thats very good for theatre shots! I wonder why they don't want photographs - maybe its just the flash!

I think this turned out really well.

Great shot. You get turfed out of the theatres if you take photos out here.

Sometimes rules are made to be broken! It was worth it to take this shot - looks like a great night out.

@bruni @maggiemae @tunia @onewing @peterlgrave @cashew @hermann @roachling @flowerfairyann Thank you all for your comments, I think the reason they don't allow photos is to stop people using flash. I turned my flash off as well as the focus light and waited until there was a scene with quite bright light. I also have a pre setting on this old camera which is called ' use available light' and it is very good in low light situations. Babs I think I might have been turfed out if I'd been caught Ha ha.
