Wet Sleddale Vallely

This is looking across the Wet Sleddale valley near Shap. The water in the foreground is Wet Sleddale reservoir. The white building on the other side of the valley is Sleddale Hall which when built was the main farm and house in the Sleddale valley. For many years it has stood derelict. In 1986 the film Withnail and I was filmed here and it became "Crow Crag", the Lake District cottage owned by Uncle Monty in the film Withnail and I, staring Actor Richard E. Grant, who played Withnail. Since then it has been bought and re-roofed to make it water tight. and is in the process of being restored.

Super view, it looks like you are having some windy weather too.
Interesting narrative.
Good to hear the farmhouse is being restored, hate to see nice buildings just falling apart.

Good to hear it's now being renovated. The views must be fantastic from it. Lovely to see the sheep dotted about on the hillside too and I can see how windy it is by the water. Lovely shot.

@gijsje @dizzyd @happypat @flowerfairyann @hermann Thank you for your lovely comments. Yes it was a very windy day, and the reservoir was quite choppy. Pat if you travel through Shap on the A6 road you will see the dam over to your right as you pass the turning to go to the motorway.
