Today there was an annual tractor road run which is held in memory of a villager who was very keen on vintage tractors. Money is raised at the event for Prostate cancer and our local air ambulance. There are old and modern tractors which take part. This year 64 in total. They travel 34 miles around local villages stopping off at our village hall for lunch before completing the second half of the run. The middle two pictures shows my husbands tractor which he did the run on. It is a Ford 7810 silver jubilee model. These tractors were produced by ford to mark 25 years production of ford tractors at the Basildon factory. Although the 7810 model was in production that year in the normal blue and white colours, only 250 of them were painted in the silver colour.
Have to show this to farmer George.. he has a collection of vintage ( and ageing) tractors.. He collects David Brown's and I see a couple there.. what a great way to raise some money for a very good cause.. I see the Air Con couldn't be working on a couple with having to drive with the door open.. fav
Such a great way to raise money and a spectacle for those along the route watching all those tractors go by. Your husband must be very proud of his vintage tractor. Super collage Shirley.
We were warned that there was a tractor run near us which would have been a little awkward seeing as it was the Fred Witton cycle race. They had a nice day for these outdoor fun events. Love old tractors.
@pdulis Thank you all for your kind comments. It was a lovely day, which I think all the tractor drivers were pleased about. Tunia, I do my collages in Photoshop. After you have dragged and dropped them on to a blank canvas, you can move them, crop them or rotate them. Cally there was a number of cyclists came along the same road in amongst the tractors which was quite a contrast.
