Sunday ride out by shirleybankfarm

Sunday ride out

Taken with my husbands point and shoot pocket camera. We were bought a voucher for afternoon tea in a hotel in the Lakes so we decided to to today. We went via Kirkstone Pass which is a mountain pass with an altitude of 1,489 feet (454 m). Part of the pass is called The struggle. The Tour of Britain bike race is due to ascend the struggle tomorrow. In places, the gradient is 1 in 4. This shot was taken just before we got to the summit of Kirkstone Pass. I liked the way the sun picked the top of the hill out.
Great country shot

Lovely Shirley, love the way the wall follows the line of the mountain. Are you visiting the Wstmorland show on Thursday, if so do you fancy a quick hello!

@happypat Thank you for your lovely comment. I don't think I will be able to make it this year to the Westmorland show, if the weather allows we will be busy with grass.

@777margo @tonydebont @onewing @simplygorgeous @maggiemae @gilbertwood @koalagardens @hermann @flowerfairyann Thank you all for your lovely comment quite a surprise to see it on the PP. Sorry about my lack of comments on your shots. I only have limited time on my computer before it shuts it's self down. I am still looking at your lovely shots but have to be quick. Hopefully will get time to sort something out about getting my computer looked at soon.

@harbie Thank you Harbie, although I am surrounded by stone walls, and they can be a pain on the farm, I also love them.
