Apple picking by shirleybankfarm

Apple picking

Decided this afternoon was the time to pick our apples as the morning was bright and sunny and the heavy dew was gone after lunch. Unfortunately we didn't get very many picked before it threw a shower and once again they were all wet!!!
Lovely crop Shirley, same weather here lovely then late afternoon it throws a shower even when the sun is shining! Domyou store them for eating & do they keep ok?

The apples look in great condition - no spots, holes, bird eaten parts! Well looked after in the growing phase!

@happypat @cmp @pyrrhula @koalagardens @gijsje @maggiemae @hermann @peterlgrave @peterlgrave @onewing @flowerfairyann @julienne1 Thank you everybody for your great comments. Peter I would willingly send you loads of rain if it were possible. There is a bumper crop of apples this year. Maggiemae, these are sour cooking apples, the birds and wasps go for the sweet eating varieties first, which they have done. I have been busy starting some apple jelly and making apple sauce to freeze today. If I have time tomorrow I hope to make some apple pasties for the freezer also.
