My husband has always said 'you can't make hay in June' but this year he has relented and that is just what we have done. It has made a welcome change to be able to leave the bales in the field overnight knowing it wasn't going to rain. Other years it has been a mad rush to get them undercover because rain was forecast.
Love the smell of fresh hay. I remember those days of 'they've got to be stacked tonight, there's a thunder storm coming'. So we'd stack them in the field and then load them onto the trolley, throw them off at the barn and then re-stack them in the barn. Then there'd be no storm. Talk about exhausted! Anyway, glad you haymaking is going well in June.
@gijsje@julzmaioro@hermann@flowerfairyann@ellida Thanks for your comments, I really like hearing from you all. Ann I also love the smell of fresh hay, it is just part of summer. Julia not many people make little hay bales in this country now. We make them to feed the sheep in our shed at lambing time.
