Thanks ladies. Andee you don't know how good that makes me feel to hear someon say I ma inproving! And thanks for the FAV. Thanks ladies for the kind words.
@maggiemae Sometimes I don't know how I arrive at my captures either. I am really new to all this, just got my camera for Christmas. This is the 55-200mm lense that came in a kit with my Nikon D3100 the settings are f5.6, 100 ISO 200MM at 0.0016 sec. I sat on the ground and leaned against my house and that is it.
Amazing that you captured that shot with that lens at that focal length just leaning against your house!!! I set up a tripod, shot with the same lens, at the same focal lenght and ended up with a big piece of garbage for a photo. Great job!!!
@cmc1200 You are too funny. I took about 15 shots and these were the best of all of them. I have gotten into the practice of giving a big exhale and holding my breath when i take moon shots.. also my lense has VR on it so maybe that helps too???
So did mine on a tripod again last night with the remote. I sped up my shutter speed, which really helped, and got clear shots...but still not what I was hoping for. I will try again tonight just for the practice. Your moon shots are great!!?
I noticed your capture and I think you did a great job. I got some more shots the night before last and some awesome shots of the moon setting yesterday morning, I will get busy and post them... However last night and this mornign no luck as we had clouds on the horizons. Thanks for the kind words, but like I said...my problem is sometimes i don't even know how I come up with what I get in the end, which is not good as I continually have to take a bazillion shots to get one good one instead of just setting my camera and taking the shot...I stillhave soooo much to learn and that is why I love this site, such great people and inspiration! Love to see what you come up with tonight!
