This is my second attempt at doing selfies. Someone had posted on my first attempt that I would be addicted since I got the first one under my belt and maybe they are right. There has been about two miles of empty train cars parked on the track down below my house and I decided to take the oppertunity to use them as a prop. I set everyting up on the opposite side of the our gravel road where no passerby's could see me, but along comes my neighbor and his three dogs...YES, I felt like an idiot. He is into photography as well, so I think / I hope that once I explained to him what I was doing, he didn't think I was a crazy lunatic!
Very artistic- a picture that tells a story. Wonderful stylized selfie! As for the neighbor- thankfully it was someone who can understand your passion. What if it hadn't been- that would have been embarrassing! This is great!
This is excellent, looks like it was done in the 1930's. Outstanding self-portrait and I don't think your dumb at all for doing it, just the opposite. A Fav.
I like the way you present it. It looks like an archive photo. Great! I would leave a little more space in the direction of your eyes, not from the back. Of course, it depends. Thank you.
@anden I would agree with you.. this was one of the last poses I did. I had the camera all set up and was funning back and forth up the incline to the tracks plopping my but down and i thought hey I will grab the rail...I forgot to reframe the camera, just left it inthe same spot for the whole shoot, then my neighbor and his dogs came along and busted me and i think he htought i was a little strange ;(
Well done, Shirley. You are brave. I always think people are ready to haul me off to a looney bin when I'm out all over the place with my camera. I love how you processed this with the rich sepia tones.
A great photo, way past my "hold the cell phone at arm's length" to take a selfie. I think most of us suffer the "Is she crazy or what" worry when we roam around taking photos of things most people wouldn't waste their time on.
