My 16 year old diabetic cat picking em off one by one. He knows I am about to take it away from him.
Another milstone for me.
This is the first time I got into the top 10, let alone the first time for the top 5.
5th place in the top 20 for week 113 316/110/26

Thanks to all you great followers ;)
I agree with Caren. Amazing catch for both of you. The focus is so crisp. I had a diabetic cat as well and I had to give him insulin shots twice a day for years. Never thought to add mice to his diet! :)
@kwind yes, I have to give him insulin shots twice a day and have been for two years now. The problem is he is pretty much insulin resistant at this point, so not sure how much longer we will have him. He is really happy though and loves to mouse. I am sorry to hear you have to deal with type 1 diabeties. ;(
Nicely captured!! Our cat caught a rat about a week or so ago... it was MASSIVE... brought it through the house, although it wasn't until he was outside again a few mins later that I realised he'd brought it through!!!
@ozziehoffy Casandra, Oh my gosh.. I bet your skin crawled when you figured out your what the cat had dragged in. YIKES a rat! I have no problem with grabbing a mouse by the tail and taking it away from my Bob Cat, but a rat might be another story.
@sailingmusic Oh, I didn't even know it hit the PP... Awesome, thanks for letting me know ;) Yes, I have gotten, frogs, snakes birds a chipmunk and a boat load of mice as gifts and of course they always want praise!
@shirljess You know I have had to remove them from cupboards (in traps) but I'm wearing gloves and wrapping them in newspaper etc. etc.!! Just one of those things I'm queasy about, but will take care of if I have to. Once again though- it's a great capture!
@groovygirlrn@kandkids@suklassen@lynnb@sjodell I know what you mean, It is always too late for me to save them, but I never let BOB eat them if I can spot him stiing with one, I take it away and give it a toss outto the fields. Not quite a proper burial, but better than being devoured. ;)
@shirljess lol well, let's just say that EVERY door into the house was quickly closed... before attempting some photos... which didn't work out too well cos I was too afraid the thing was going to run at me, which would've then given me Olympic records in more than one event lol. You are way braver than me, I won't eve touch the mice he gets... lucky they're only small field mice! Ps.. sorry to hear about his diabetes :/
@libcreative@eyesofbetsie@gphelps5@boxplayer We have no choice, we live out in the country surrounded by wheat fields on all four sides, so we are inundated with mice and vowls....Bob catches 3 or 4 a day. Arrrrrrrrrrgh! @camerada@yrhenwr@gooner46 Oh, Chris! I shutter to think jsut how many mice are out in the fields around our house...millions I am sure! @sassik@virus_peeper Thanks, he is a beauty and I see you have a beautiful kitty as your profile pic ;) @rockinrobyn@sailingmusic Thanks to all who have shown me and BOB so much love on this post ;)
@ozziehoffy Ha Ha Ha, that would be a sight to see! Yes, it is a going to be a sad day when we have to put my Bob Cat to sleep. Thanks for the the thoughtfulness ;)
To me the eyes say "you wouldn't dare" it your cat killing them to eat or just for the hunt? poor thing to think of it has to endure w needles a day.. beautiful cat with gorgeous eyes. fav.
@bruni Thanks somuch for the FAV.. I lov ethis cat so much and makes me so sad at 16 and with diabetes we most likely will not have him much longer.. he loves the hunt and then tries to eat them before I take them away from him and if he happens to get one down the hatch it doesn't stay down long if you know what I mean LOL ;)
@wordpixman THX so much and thanks for your FAV I love this cat so much, so this is a special portrait of him.. he is a bob tail and so i call him BOB CAT!
Sixteen and still hunting mice? Go Bob Cat! He's a pretty boy too. I feel sorry for the mice though. Our cats go for mice fairly frequently but one of them (Sydney) has a taste for shrews!
Saw this on the PP - Congratulations! Love his expression, "I dare you to try and get this from me...."
(also reminds me of a poem by B. Kliban: "Love to eat them mousies; mousies what I love to eat. Bite they tiny heads off..........nibble on they tiny feet.") hahaha Take care, Les
@shirljess Thanks for your reply; i'm glad it gave youa chortle.:D i remembered it from my kidhood. You buy coffee mugs, etc. with that poem printed on it. My Mom loves hers. :)) Take good care, Les
I've been away from 365 for so long I'm finally getting around to look at everyone's photos! When I saw this I immediately thought for sure it had to have made the pp!! Congratulations on this amazing capture!
@cheribug Thanks, Cheryl... so sweet of you! A milestone for me.. first time in the top ten and first time in the top 5. @coastandcactus Thanks so much, Cissy!
