Learning How To Portrait

This is from my second ever (out of two) portrait shoot. I learned a LOT on this shoot - mostly what NOT to do lol! I'd like to get better at this aspect of photography - especially post production. Any tips and feedback is greatly appreciated!
i find it very nerve wracking taking photos of people! I think you have to study up and be prepared beforehand so you can quickly assess the light and ask for a pose or two, along with capturing any candid moments for natural smiles and such.

@kali66 I did those things for both shoots and it def helped. I think it's really a matter of practice. Important aspects are knowing how to pose the model and where to position yourself to capture the desired effect. Another thing is to pay attention to small details during the shoot like stray hairs and other things that will make post processing a struggle.

I get a lot of tips from Digital Photography School. This one might help:

@deekjames hey thanks for the tip. For me, working with an inexperienced model is the most difficult part as I don't know exactly what I need as far as angles and facial expressions and stuff.
