I create an article for our monthly community newspaper called Featured Artist. I have interviewed pro and amateur photographers and painters to wood workers. All the articles feature residents of this retirement community. Yesterday I interviewed a lapidarist. This photo shows some of the rock to stenciled cutout to finished jewelry.
He/She does beautiful work. How people see something in stone always fascinates me. With this the artist seemed to know exactly where to cut it to make the prettiest piece. Great collage!
@30pics4jackiesdiamond@judithdeacon@cocobella@jacqbb@olivetreeann@bruni@etienne He had learned this in high school as an assistant in a special needs student class where it was used to help the students learn to focus. He took classes and made jewelry pieces to supplement his income through college. Then dropped it as life took other priorities. Retirement has let him pick it up again.
What an interesting collage ! And I like the non-blue gems the best, mainly because to me those are unfamiliar in jewelry...not for wearing though ( too intricate a style for me) but yes, very interesting 👍
