This is the fully open gazania. It goes through that entire transition everyday, closing at night and slowly opening in the day. It is supposed to be 113 degrees F (45 degrees C) today. I thought only Death Valley got temperatures like this. We have friends staying because their AC broke.
Super close-up such vibrant colours and such a definate design - I do not envy you the great heat - hope you will find a shady corner and air conditioning ot fan !!
Such a stunning close up of this beauty. I have a few different varieties in my garden. That does sound awfully ho without an aircon. Hope you get some reprieve soon.
@pattyblue The main reason we can cope is that we live in an area that has frequent heat (not necessarily this hot) so most places have air conditioning. The problem is that the more we run the AC the more we contribute to global climate change and it becomes a positive feedback loop….which is not a good thing.
What a time to have your air conditioning break. Thank goodness they have friends like you to help. The flower is gorgeous- love those striking colors!

That heat is horrible. I melt when it gets to 90F here.
