I've always loved these birds. Redwing Blackbird, usually found near marshes and fields.

Sean and I went to the Marsh to meet a friend of his and we had an amazing day! Thanks for setting that up Sean

I learned lots and got to play with some amazing toys. Thanks Paul! I wish I could show you Paul's work...amazing birder....wow! His friend Jerry showed us his portfolio and holy cow. These guys are amazing and don't show their work off at all....it's a shame.

Great day, wind burnt, tired and a big smile on my face :)

Want to see the toys we got to play with?

This is a beautiful shot. What's the minimum f-value with that lens ?
posted April 5th, 2012
Nice one. You got the focus spot on.

that's an amazing shot, great details, and I'm glad you were well enough to get out and play

@janmaki I thought it was a wide-angled lens you were after - or is this on the basis of shiny, want\?

@shanne Basically, I want any new lens. And a new car. And a new bike. :)

Gret shot of this guy! They wouldn't turn sideways for me with the beak open :(
It was a great day info and practice wise...and now we have a new place to go for some wildlife shots....next time we need to remember bait. Both kinds! :)

You have different birds to us , this is a very showy blackbird !

Great shot! The sound of the Red Winged Blackbird always says "spring" to me!

Great capture. It is so hard to get good coloring on these dark birds.

@janmaki min F is 5.6, 400mm prime. All my shots (that were in focus) were so crisp! Freehand with a big lens gives you a nice wobble in the breeze.
I've used Sean's 300mm and I was amazed at what the difference was between that and this! I'm thinking you could probably buy a couple nice bikes for the price of this!
