Today at 11:00 Bon's family had a service for her in Namibia. However, neither Bon nor myself are/were religious so I decided to take Bon's favourite tipple - Smirnoff Spin & a Millers for myself to the beach & enjoy a drink together in spirit (so to speak!).
Of course I wasn't counting on the hurricane winds & thunder storms we had this morning so it was freakin' horrendous at the beach, incredibly cold, being sandblasted & I had to run after my camera bag as it flew down the beach as soon as I took my camera out!
I only managed a couple of shots as my fingers went numb so this isn't entirely how I wanted it but I know Bon would have thoroughly enjoyed it & laughed her head off at me!!
As I drank half my bottle of Miller (beer) & poured the rest with Bon's Spin into the sea I thought at least I managed to enjoy a last shared drink with my friend.
@shannew thanks a lot Shanne, I think so as before it was pretty rare for anyone to find us at the weekend after dog training without a bottle of Spin & Millers in our hands before going home :)
Beautiful tribute, words and photo - this is how we should remember our friends - doing the things we love. Sounds like a tough time, hugs to you from Sydney x
I know she would have laughed that infectious laugh of hers ..at you being out in this weather,All our thoughts and hugs over this difficult time.
We will treasure all our fond memories of a dear friend.
A terrific tribute! I think she organised the storm to see you do just that: chase camera bags, eat sand and drink your Millers - a friend's laugh is something that will be treasured forever. Nice one Sarah! ;)

Fabulous tribute. Not only did you know what she would want to do, but you made it an artistic endeavor. Love those waves so much, especially counterpointed with the stasis of the bottle. Fav!
a lovely tribute to your friend, i'm very sorry for your loss. I have just gone back and read what happened (i have been very behind). Hope you are feeling ok:)
@trude thank you very much Trude, it's hard as everything I do reminds me of Bon in some way but as with everything you just have to get on with it, thank you again for asking.
