My geraniums are still full and looking good. The petals looked velvety. Went to camera club last night and learned that I should set some settings in PhotoShop that made a big difference in bringing out the colors in these like I saw them.

Open Photoshop and click on the eye dropper
At the top of the page in the Sample size box change it to 3 by 3 average
Open any photograph file
Press Ctrl M - this will open the curves window
Double click on the left eye dropper (black) below the graph and in the R,G & B boxes change the value to 7 in each
Double click the right eye dropper (white) and in the R,G, & B boxes change the values to 245 in each
Double click the center eye dropper (gray) and in the R, G, & B boxes change the value to 133 in each
When you close the photograph or the curves window you will be prompted if you want to save those target values click yes.
Whenever you open a photograph press Ctrl-M to open the curves window. then single click on each eye dropper and in your photograph select the blackest section with black eye dropper, whitest for white and gray for gray and watch your photo change as you select these,

@stephw - I just thought I'd better add that when selecting the white, don't choose a bright white like a highlight from a reflection as this will cause a burnout overall look. Choose a white where there is some detail.
