The first signs of winter showed up today with a light dusting of snow.
Awesome shot

We got a very light dusting, too, Skip. I'm going to put mine up tomorrow. Excellent capture.

You transitioned from fall to early winter quite quickly - at least it was a gently change. Such a beautifully simple shot.

Wow. Stay warm. Nice close up.

We have snow on the grass but streets are still black. Need to try to capture something when the sun comes up.

I really like how you composed this, how the stick is straight but the leaf has some curve to it, how the background is dark and makes the snow all the more prominent. If you did any post-editing, I like what you did! Fav.

"Last Color...First Snow..." What an engaging image! With any luck we may get our first noticeable flurries tonight...yippee!

@kerristephens - Thank you Kerri!

@eyesmile - Thank you Gena!

@mittens - Thank you Marilyn! I will be watching for yours.

@milaniet - Thank you Milanie. We were fortunate that the transition was gentle. We saw on the weather last night that Erie, Pa weren't so fortunate. They showed drivers having a hard time getting traction on their commute.

@danette - Today we awoke to the grass being covered with snow. I took another picture of the same leaf only this time it has more snow on it. Can you send up a box or two of warm weather?

@anniemc051 - Thank you Annie!

@seattlite - Thank you very much Gloria!

@candia - Thank you very much Candia for the beautiful comment, fav and follow! I am returning the favor. I can't wait to see pictures from your part of the world!

@joansmor - I hope you have something beautiful to photograph. We awoke this morning to the grass being covered. Our roads are wet but no snow is sticking.

@lyndemc - Thank you Denise! I always enjoy your take on the photos I post! Thank you to for adding your fav!

@Weezilou - Thank you so much Louise! I was surprised that you haven't gotten a taste of the snow as yet. Do you get some protection from the ocean? Our oldest daughter used to live in Anchorage, Alaska and they were spared, to some degree, by mountains and the Gulf of Alaska.

lovely shot, we just get rain rain and more rain
November 14th, 2014
Well, it's currently 82, so I'd be glad to send you at least 20 degrees.

@skipt07 We are situated with the Gulf Stream a short ways off shore...it keeps this coast "warmer" than across the peninsula on the Bay of Fundy (where they're expecting some measurable snowfall this evening).

@denisefuller - I don't know what is worse? Snow or lots of rain?

@danette - When can I expect the delivery? :)

@Weezilou - Isn't it amazing that the Gulf Stream can affect the temps that far north? I guess there is no need to winter in California then?

cool shot, a very light dusting indeed!

Maybe you will check out my attempt to capture the fleeting snow.

Fantastic detail and colors.

I love the quietness of this shot!!!

Great capture of the snow flakes on the leaf. (We're supposed to get 3 inches of snow tonight here in southern Ohio.)
