My wife spotted these on her way to work and called me in case I wanted to try and get a picture. There were a couple of toms with their tail feathers all spread out, but there were branches between me and them and the camera kept focusing on the branches. :-(
Great capture! Turkeys usually scram when they realize they're being watched but you must know the magic word to keep them in place long enough for a photo.
@lyndemc - They were kind of milling around in this swampy area right off the road. Knowing they had keen eyesight I remained in the car and shot out the driver's window. I have read that turkey's eyesight is 3 times greater than 20/20 and in addition to their excellent visual acuity, turkeys also have awesome peripheral vision. Tomβs laterally positioned eyes give him a broader field of view. He has an approximate visual field of 270 degrees around them.
