Brown Cuban Anole

We had sat down for lunch and when I looked out the dining room window I spotted this lizard sitting on the driftwood outside in the flowerbed. With the sun backlighting its dewlap I couldn't pass up getting a picture.

Oh my, it really blends in with the driftwood, except for that pop of brilliant color on its throat. Very cool shot.

@maggiemae - I forget that not everyone understands American contractions, which combines two words to make one. Couldn't is a contraction made from combining "could" and "not". So yes, I could not pass up getting a picture!

@Weezilou @eyesmile - When I first saw this I assumed that it was a gecko. It moved to the top of the log and started bobbing its head and then the bright dewlap appeared. In Pennsylvania we don't have these kinds of lizards either. I believe that we are limited to salamanders.
