I didn't take this photo our granddaughter did from her kayak as she paddled down their street this morning in Panama City, Florida. We have talked to them by text. Our granddaughter said that it was pretty crazy during the storm. They drove to Jacksonville, FL because they were told that it would be a week before power is restored.
@merrelyn@seattlite - Thank you very much for your kinds words! I had texted our granddaughter shortly before Michael made landfall. She is a hard person to get a response. But she did then. I had asked if they were staying put or evacuating and she said they were staying put. I said that I was hoping she wouldn't say that. So I told her to stay in the center of the house preferably in a small room or closet away from windows. She said she would. She told me that she hadn't been worried but she was then. Their house had roof damage and her and her brother's cars were scratched from flying debris. But the important thing is that they are safe!
