This attractive Italian restaurant is located in New Castle, PA. It is called 2 Tomato. The owners were going to have four restaurants, but the economy has been rough. We noticed this was closed and that they had also closed III Tomato and were going to relocate and combine the two restaurants. Its a shame.
Great image, it's quite interesting as for me it carries a feeling of warm emptiness with the front lights being on but otherwise no sign of activity. Really presents the story so well.
@maggiemae - I don't know. We went to III Tomato right after it opened and the waitress told us that they were going to open a fourth restaurant. I Tomato had already been closed though I don't know where its location was. I was surprised since they just opened the one we were in. Maybe they are good cooks but poor businessmen?
@wannabe - This one isn't in the best part of town. But as you can see they put a lot of money into it. There is a Middle Eastern restaurant a half a block from this and it is doing very well.
@vickisfotos - It will be interesting to see. This restaurant had a larger menu and more pasta dishes than III Tomato which was more pizza and sandwiches. From what I understand the new location will be closer to downtown.
@seattlite - That's what I heard being said over and over on election night by the talking heads. The economy is turning around however, the effects isn't being felt by the average guy.
@danette - New Castle is a depressed city in a depressed county. In the large city up where I live where there is an over abundance of restaurants rarely do you drive past a restaurant that its parking lot isn't full or close to full. Even the fast food restaurants.
@icamera - I know. There was a small note on the door about its closing. Driving by you'd think it just wasn't open that night except it was a Friday night.

@_catherine_ - Thank you Catherine!
@kerristephens - Thank you Kerri!
