Hold your breath...

After the creepiness from yesterday, I am having more fun with this week's theme today ;-) See, my toes don't actually look that bad... ;-))
Your toes are much more prettier today, lol :)

I like the dark mood of this peice! ... I find myself saying that about lots of people's photos this week. 365 is doing a very good job with this theme! :D

You're having some serious fun with this! I love what you've photographed here, but it could be playful if not for the chippy painted walls and dark coverlet... You've managed am eerie bent.

I found you some information abuot your little shoe. It's just as I expected http://wayhistsoc.home.comcast.net/~wayhistsoc/whs/Shoes_in_the_Wall/shoes_in_the_wall.htm Isn't that cool that you found this bit of history?! Do you know when your home was originally built? It just struck me...we could definitely have a shoe in the walls of this 1888 house! I'll have to look it up, but I believe our home was originally built by a shoe maker... It would follow, wouldn't it?!

Had another full day! The roofers aren't starting too early (at least I'm up before they arrive), but I don't think they're near finished. It seems a very tedious, time-consuming job. We watched as they lash shingles with a rope and pull them to the roof, a (smallish) batch at a time. Very labor intensive, it seems to me! But you know, too, with an old home, they just take concentrated & personalized attention.

I was catching up on responses on 365 this evening when we decided to go back up to The Academy and take pictures in the graveyard at night. The Academy itself is brightly lit, so it casts light on the graveyard around it. I had just a little success, and think I'd like to go a smidge earlier next time when it's twilight. We got there when the sky was still slightly light and I love the lighting in a couple pictures. So many choices of things to do around here!

Better get a move on...need to post a picture and upload to Shutterfly, just to stay ahead of the game! So glad you mentioned the shoe...now go enjoy reading about what it means!

Oh Slava...your processing in this one is sooo cool, I love it!!!

This is very interesting Slava!
makes me feel like your toe is sneaking out from that sheet...well is that your skirt? if it is, the pattern is lovely!

beautiful composition, slava. i love the pattern on your skirt and the texture of the peeling wall or whatever that is you're resting your foot against. and lastly, i love the little splash of color coming from your toes....that are much better to look at than yesterday. haha.

Thank you Jenny, Bill and Rainee!! Yes, that's my skirt and my foot is resting on the backdoor steps. The bright light at the right corner (where my knee is) is coming from inside the room. I had a different idea for this photo, but when I sent it to my cousin she couldn't make out what's what, so we decided it's eerie and it's fitting for the theme! ;-)

I love it Slava. Great job.

How funny...my perspective was completely off! I thought you were laying down with a coverlet over your leg and you foot against the wall! Since you know where you were, you may not be able to imagine it as I saw it...but now that you explain, I can see it exactly!

The roofers, probably life-long Lunenburgers, I doubt are as taken with "the old" as we are. I also doubt there's anything interesting tucked away on the roof. Here's what it looks like where they're working http://365daysintheyear.shutterfly.com/1676 The kids are in that front second-floor bedroom...*sigh* (oh well!)

And I know exactly what you mean about the old floors; ours are like that. The center part of the floor is made up of wide planked soft wood where a carpet would lay, and around it are oak floors. Last summer we finally got a large area rug for the living room, so it looks finished in there, http://365daysintheyear.shutterfly.com/1697 but we just have small throw rugs in the other rooms, so the secret is exposed! (On the desk, I just framed the photo Peter Van Allen allowed me to print of his work. I was so excited to have that; it's completely quirky & I love it!)

Well, there goes the hour toward 1 AM again. Getting up early to go to the farmer's market with my family before going for our walk. So here we are again at the end of another day. I love talking to you about your house as you're having some of the same pleasure in settling in it as we've had with this one. I wonder how many other people are reading and following our conversation ;-) Good night...see you tomorrow!

I love the composition and the way you processed this shot!

Funny you should say Jack looks like a panther, as I often refer to him as my little panther. Especially when he's stalking something!

LOL, creepy toes NO way! your toes look fine... Great picture

alright, so pardon my weird brain, but it almost looks as if you've been rolled up in a carpet of some sort.

i know it's your skirt, but for the purposes of being "eerie", i'm pretending that it's a carpet :-)

this is my favorite of your eerie shots so far!
