Sorry for multiple uploads. I have been waiting for orchids to go on sale so i can buy them. took way too many pictures and really like some of them a lot, mostly because the picture has orchids in it :). might have to wait for a filler week before uploading more orchid pics..
I think on this shot you can leave out the actual plant and keep the shadow. Right now I feel the plant and shadow are battling for attention. And I like the softness of the shadow.
@debbim thank you so much. i am thrilled about the FAV. must be a good day to take a picture, enjoy doing that and then it is FAVed. thank you. @grammyn thnakyou. i thought so too. the glass in the front door of my house and the above the door let the sunlight in to the house. it was very interesting to see the shadows and the lights play out well with the orchids.thank you. @paintdipper thank you so much for your kind feedback. @olivetreeann thank you for th egreat suggestion. i did consider it before posting the picture, but ended up thinking that the shadow from the door would be los tin that crop too, so ended up posting ht eoriginal picture. Great idea though, glad to see someone else felt the same way as i did. thank you for the feedback. @janets thank you for the feedback.
I agree with @olivetreeann that the plant and the shadow fight for attention. Making two photos of it would be much more interesting. Very nice capture all the same.
Wow! Saw this in the contest page, and noticed you mentioned using a low f-stop for soft light. I'll have to try that out! Meanwhile, very nice shot. Great lighting and beautiful subject! Well done!
