I discovered this blackbirds nest on the 24th or June( pic on 365 ) Since then I took a pic. on the 30th of June also on 365. Then again today ,I always check that their mum is off the nest, and take the photo very quickly so not to disturb them. One of the eggs didn't hatch.. They are looking a bit better now they have some feathers.I think they must have thought I was bringing them some food!!
ha ha, they look so funny - amazing how bright yellow those beaks are. Poor Mummy having to come home to this lot! Reminds me a bit of the boys when they come in from school - STAAAARRRRRVIIIIING!
Ohhh, look at their little mouths to feed. This is a great photo, Diana! We usually have some birds that nest in my hanging ferns each year, but lost the babies last year to some hunting creature. This year, nobody nested (which was probably a good thing). I miss having baby birdies.
They look too big for the nest now. Yes Helen reminds me of my boys too! But unlike these little ones they are quite capable of getting their own food now and only say "What's for dinner?" to annoy me!
I love this one! There is a children's book "Are you my mother?" Where a baby bird wanders around looking for its mum. These little guys seem to think YOU are mother with food. :-)
