Sheep shearing completion by snowy

Sheep shearing completion

Today we went to Kington agriculture show. Whilst we were there we watched the sheep shearing completion .They could shear a sheep in 32 seconds, in the final the winner sheared 14 sheep in 8 mins 5 secs. it was amazing to watch.
This looks fun. But what I want to know is what the organisers were thinking putting this show on Saturday when everyone knows that it should have been on Sunday so we could have come and watched it too! Wish we could have been in two places at once, because you would have loved the little fete that Will's band was playing at this afternoon too - (I thought it was a church concert so it was a nice surprise!)

Yes it would be good to be in two places at once. I am looking forward to seeing Wills play in the brass band

I'd have liked to be in 3 places at once, we had a great day shopping but then this sheep thing looks pretty good as does the fete! Why are they shearing sheep now just when it's getting chilly??Brrrr, glad I'm not a sheep!

It is an amazing thing to watch, and I feel bad for the sheep because they really roll them around. Poor things don't know what hits them.

Nice photo! I have seen this action on tv. When I was a child in the country there was a sheep or two in many yards keeping the grass short. Autumn came and the sheep were sheared with simple shears. A little later the sheep lost their lives too.

Diana Bok choy is a kind of chinese cabbage. We can get it in supermarkets in both NZ and Australia so it might be worth looking around for it otherwise I would use either spinach or cabbage or even a combination. Love to know how you go if you do try it. I use boned chicken pieces when I do it for the family. As a vegetarian have not eaten it myself but the boys all love it.

PS brilliant photo!! As a kiwi with some rural blood I love a good shearing comp...the smell reminds me of my grandparents.

I was wondering about the poor sheep getting sheared this end of summer, theyll get cold brrrrr! Great shot and I can imagine it would be great to watch.
I eat Pak Choi but Ive not heard of Bok choy. Perhaps its part of the same family. You can get it in Asda now :)
