The Horseshoe Weir. by snowy

The Horseshoe Weir.

When we go into Ludlow we go over the bridge crossing the river Teme and see this weir. It is an unusual shape . and has been recently restored . It is one of five weirs that used to be used to produce power for a series of water mills engaged in processing wool from Marches sheep .
this is lovely...so do you have an English accent or a Welsh one?

What a pretty place you live in! I think I've already said that about a billion times already. Well, now a billion and one, I guess.

What a great scene, and it does look almost as though it is an oil painting.

I too had to find out what a weir is for something. Never seen the word before but the scenery is beautiful.

This is gorgeous....I love the white water and the weeping willow that frames the right-hand side of the photo.

Another beautiful picture Diana. Isn't it strange how things we take for granted are a complete mystery to others. I guess if English is not your first language then the word wier wouldn't be high on your vocabulary list!! Surely Britain isn't the only country with weirs?
