Mitchell's Fold is were we ended up for our walk today, it is a bronze age stone circle, set in a dramatic moorland on Stapeley hill.Originally consisting of 30 stones,only14 have survived. It is 27 metres in diameter. The view's all round were amazing.....After arriving home quite late , then cooking , I will have to catch up tomorrow on comments

A scaled down Stonehenge! Beautiful setting and to imagine what took place there so many years ago.

It looks like quite a challenging walk ! Strange stones & is that a bit of heather coming out in the back ? We were going to have a good walk today but by the time had read the papers etc too late , perhaps tomorrow!!

Very dramatic. I looked with the magnifier and think I can see a mobile phone tower in the background; if so, a very nice juxtaposition of old and new.

Oh gosh--I love these standing stones. I remember seeing them in Avebury--such a gorgeous area. I'm so envious of you right now! (and I miss England)
