The automotive world lost a legend yesterday. Carroll Shelby, creator of the iconic Shelby Cobra and Shelby Mustang, died at the age of 89. Today's pic is a tribute to Mr. Shelby and the amazing automobiles he made. This is a 1965 Shelby Mustang GT350. Carroll Shelby and Ford collaborated to produce this two seat, high performance version of Ford's incredibly popular Mustang. All 1965 GT 350s were painted white with blue racing stripes. These cars were quite brutal and more suitable for the racetrack than the street. RIP, Mr. Shelby, and thanks for the memories.
@simon0128 Thanks, Simon! I planned to switch my theme to something other than cars today, but yesterday's death of Carroll Shelby compelled me to make a tribute to him today. I will display more of my automotive photography work in the future, but I am switching my theme tomorrow to some new shots I just took of the abandoned farmhouse.
Great shot! I got to ride in a Cobra replica, it was a unique experience..raw power. Just had to remember to not burn your legs on the side pipes when you got out :)
@anzere03 Thanks! I had the incredible experience of being offered one drive in a real 427 Shelby Cobra. Naturally, I accepted. My hands were shaking for hours after that drive! The only thing I have ever driven since then that produced that same feeling was a 631 horsepower Lamborghini Murcielago.

@seanoneill Thank you, Sean - and an A6 estate is a very nice automobile!
