Due to the popularity of yesterday's tribute to the late Carroll Shelby, I decided to do a sequel. Here is the iconic 427 Shelby Cobra, arguably the most brutal street-legal automobile ever sold and the greatest automobile Mr. Shelby ever made. I was fortunate to drive a 427 Cobra once and my hands trembled for hours after that ride was over! This one is for my new friend Simon, as this is his favorite automobile of all time - and one of mine too. Good bye Mr. Shelby and thank you for everything you did for the automotive world - your legend shall continue!
@simon0128 Yes, this one is for you, Simon! And thanks so much for the fav and the follow! I am really enjoying the project and all the nice people I have become friends with so far!
had to fav this.. nobody makes 'em like this anymore...damn computer chips nowdays.. and the whole engine is covered in plastic panels, can't see what makes it work...I better stop now...great composition tho and tribute
@joeboxster Thank you and I agree 100% - I've been a car nut all my life but the modern stuff doesn't do it for me anymore - give me the great classics any day!
@beachradish Thanks! On he first Sunday morning of each month, we have a monthly classic car show in my town. Depending on the weather, there will be between 200 and 1000 cars on display. If you like cars, it is like being a kid in a candy store!
Wow.....what a cool looking car, and a beautiful shot. I love the curves and colour! Between 200 and 1000 cars......that's a lot of car, and lots of shots to be taken......no wonder you feel like a kid in a candy store :-)
@allisonrap Thank you, Allison. And a Happy Mother's Day to you!! The car show is a blast, it only last 3 hours and in the summer you can not see all the cars on display in those 3 hours! I arrive early, just me and my Nikon, and pick interesting cars to look at and photograph. It is a very fun monthly ritual and a target-rich environment for photographers!
@soboy5 thank you! Do you know what cars are going to be there, and where they're located ahead of time, then you know exactly where to go? Sounds like so much fun......looking forward to seeing more shots from future shows :-)
@allisonrap :) Allison, the fun of this show is that you never know what is going to show up. There are some regulars that show up every month, but also many new cars appear each month. It is like opening up presents on Xmas morning! I'm going to miss the June show as I will be in Manhattan that day visiting my son, but I will be taking lots of photos in the city, so hopefully will have some good ones for my project.
@seanoneill Sean, I've seen dozens of replicas but only one real one - and I got to drive the real thing. It was owned by a very wealthy client of mine.
