Treasures

Here is my entry for Aday.org, the photography project that chronicled life on May 15, 2012. This Pentax is the last camera my late father owned. My dad was an excellent photographer and he passed on his love for photography to me. Dad had some great equipment, including a Leica M3. Too bad he didn't keep that one! I entered this shot under the "treasures" section of aday.org, not because the Pentax is valuable, but because it is priceless to me.

You're right you can't put a price on that! Lovely shot. Really like the lighting!

@jdr4690 Thank you, Rob. The light was the late afternoon sun, streaming through the side glass next to my front door. It was very fleeting but I managed to catch it this time.

@worthitall Thank you, Rashella. As I grow older, I have come to realize the truly priceless things are the ones money can't buy!

Nice shot of a very nice camera. Looks like a Spotmatic. I have had one since 1970. Mine came with a Super Takumar 50mm f/1.4 lens. That camera is all I used for about 35 years! I even used it as part of my Wet Day.. project recently.

@yrhenwr Thanks, David. It's a K1000, still works perfectly. My dad bought it new in the late 70's after his Miranda Sensorex gave up the ghost.

@soboy5 Ah! The K1000 a successor to the Spotmatic after Pentax went over to bayonet fittings. Used by thousands upon thousands of students of photography - all manual, no frills, could survive being dropped down a mountain!
May 16th, 2012
@soboy5 PS Have you tried using it?
May 16th, 2012
