An aerial view of Lower Manhattan, featuring the new One World Trade Center. Still under construction, it is already the tallest building in NY and when completed, will stand 1776 feet tall. Image taken from a Boeing 757 on approach to LGA.
This completes my NYC series. I really enjoyed visiting my son in Manhattan, playing tourist for 72 hours, and sharing my three days in NY with all my friends on my project. Thank you, one and all, for the kind and supportive comments I received from this series.
Now it is on to the Tulum series, I have only processed two Tulum images over the weekend due to computer issues, but am hoping to process many more this week. I will post the first two Tulum images later today, which will get me back to being current on today's date with my project.
@cdonohoue Thanks, Cathy! Glad you like the shot. Without image stabilization, I could never have taken this - even though I have steady hands for a 53 year old, the plane was shaking like crazy on the descent into LGA!
@buttercup Thanks, Mary for the nice comments and the fav! @juliakan Thank you, Julia! There is no better view of Manhattan than from the air! @yrhenwr Thanks, David - as they say, you have to make hay while the sun shines! Now it is time to start processing Tulum images! @peadar Thank you, Peter! @lyno Thanks, Lyn - I did have an amazing 72 hours in the Big Apple!
@anazad511 :) It's funny, my given name is Daniel, I went by Danny as a boy, all through my teens and then wanted to be called Dan when I graduated from law school. Sounded more grown up, I thought. For the last 10 years, I have wanted to be called Danny again - I like Danny better.
Well, my son's name is also Daniel, but all his friends call him Danny. Now he is struggling to be known as Daniel since he is now more a business guy...
@anazad511 :) I think when we are young, we want people to think we are older.....then when we finally get older, we want people to think we are younger!!!!
Great shot of an iconic city. If I'm right, the far sode is New Jersey? I used to visit Secaucus very near to New York 2-3 times a year on business. BTW, I should correct your assumption that I am a pro photographer ;) I'm not, it's just that my business is so small that when photography is needed, I do it!! I have really enjoyed your NYC series.
@seanoneill Thanks, Sean and yes, that is NJ on the far side. So you're not a pro? Could have fooled me! Glad you have enjoyed the NY series! @sandier Thanks for the nice comments, Sandie and I am so glad you enjoyed the photos of my hometown!
@trude Thank you, trude! A truly amazing place.
@juliakan Thank you, Julia! There is no better view of Manhattan than from the air!
