No, today's title is not my plan for getting out of this humdrum, suburban, monotonous existence (although I have certainly considered doing just that on more than one occasion). Instead, it is the name of my new bicycle, my first new bike in 25 years. My trusty old mountain bike finally broke down and the bike shop said it is on its last legs. Veronica offered to buy me a new bike for my birthday and I am the proud new owner of this shiny, red 2013 Giant Escape road hybrid. Very nice piece of kit, lightweight aluminum frame, flat bar, 24 speed bike that flies. I am a happy camper. I also convinced the bike shop to do a "down and dirty" repair to the old steed so it is running again, just not on all 8 cylinders anymore. I shall keep my old friend and use it for short trips only.
I must give credit to my fellow 365er and friend, Rob, for the idea for today's image as he posted a beautiful b&w earlier this month that was my inspiration for this image.
@jackie8 Thanks so much for the fav, Jackie - I only had my LX-3 with me when I got the bike and getting shallow dof is tricky with that small sensor. Glad you like the result!
