"Looking through some photographs I found inside a drawer
I was taken by a photograph of you
There were one or two I know that you would have liked a little more
But they didn't show your spirit quite as true
You were turning 'round to see who was behind you
And I took your childish laughter by surprise
And at the moment that my camera happened to find you
There was just a trace of sorrow in your eyes..."
Fountain of Sorrow was released in 1974 on Jackson Browne's classic album Late for the Sky. It is my favorite Jackson Browne song - he wrote it about his old girlfriend, Joni Mitchell. Every time I hear this song, it reminds me of one of my former girlfriends who also had a trace of sorrow in her eyes. Bittersweet, but good, memories...
Re-edited yesterday and best seen large. This concludes my series of matching songs to images. I made it 35 days in a row, and while it wasn't easy, it was definitely fun - I hope you all enjoyed it.
I think you did an amazing thing, matching songs to images so long, brilliant! Love this image and its song too. Old girlfriends, now there's a topic...!
the song title challenge was awesome!!! :)
