Scrub oak forest by soboy5

Scrub oak forest

The biggest surprise on our 40 minute nature walk at Grayton Beach State Park was this lush scrub oak forest. The nature trail transitioned from the bright sunshine of the dunes to this dense forest of oaks and palmettos through an opening in the scrub oaks that looked like a tunnel. Very cool.
