Joe Taranto Seafood Co. by soboy5

Joe Taranto Seafood Co.

Located on Water Street in Apalachicola, Florida (which is prime waterfront real estate), this abandoned building is deteriorating rapidly. Joe Taranto Seafood Co. started in 1923 and closed in the late 1990's. In its heyday, the business employed over 50 oyster shuckers. Looks nice on black.

For an interesting interview with the second owner of this closed business, see: http://www.southernfoodways.org/interview/anthony-taranto/

This completes my facebook five day b&w challenge. Tomorrow begins part two of my fall leaf color series.
I like dilapidated buildings, great capture.
